Euroweb chooses TOPEX Media Gateway range

Euroweb, the first Romanian operator to launch telephony services integrally based on a Next Generation Network (IETF) platform, has chosen to use TOPEX Media Gateway products for interconnection with the other operators.
TOPEX and Euroweb Romania have signed the contract referring to the supply of a SS&-SIP signalization interconnection and conversion platform by the Romanian telecommunication systems manufacturer.
Mr. Catalin Scarlat, Marketing Manager of Euroweb, states in relation with the signing of this contract, as follows:
"The Eurovoice service was launched at operational level in March 2005 by using a platform based on the SIP protocol defined by IETF (Internet Marketing Engineering Task). The increase of users and of the traffic volume, as well as the diversification desire of the provided services have made us, almost two years after the launch, search for solutions for the extension of the functioning and interconnection capabilities of the existing platform. Having analyzed the received offers, we have chosen the TOPEX Media Gateways range, as it bestly fulfills the specified functioning requirements and the most important one is the interconnection function with the traditional operators, by means of SIP to SS7 protocol connection, and also the availability of the advanced softswitch functions, thus allowing a multitude of further developments.

Deutsche Messe AG Hanover in collaboration with their representative office in Romanian-German Chamber of Trade and Industries has held the CeBIT Hanover 2007 workshop on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, in Bucharest.
CeBIT Hanover, the largest international IT&C exhibition, puts together major telecommunication names each year.
Deutsche Messe AG Hanover is among the first fair and exhibition companies in the world.
Once the CeBIT Hanover held, Deutsche Messe has become the promoter of the largest fair in the world, if one considers the net exhibition surface 350,000 square meters.
No other company holds events of such importance, at international level.
Mrs. Martina Lübon, CeBit Sales Manager has presented to the Romanian exhibitors (or potential exhibitors)at Cebit 2007 organization manners, as efficient as possible, for the participation in the fair and instruments provided by promoters to exhibitors, within the event held on October 4, 2006.
The presentation of TOPEX stood for a special moment, as it was one of the most important Romanian companies in the telecommunications field. During the presentation held by Mr. Valentin Visan, Topex Advertising Manager, the company's advantages after participating with their own stand in the latest three editions were presented. Topex has understood that CeBit was more than a simple fair. The TOPEX VCSS system contributes to the endowment of the Câmpia Turzii Air Base according to NATO standards

A new radio navigation and flight control system has been inaugurated on Wednesday, September 27th.
At the same time, the works performed for this Air Base between 2005-2006, within the "the guide" program were received, program performed by Romanian Air Force in order to endow Military Aerodromes with modern equipments, fully compatible with the ones existing in the military Aviation of NATO states and in the civilian aviation, according to NATO standards and to International Civilian Aviation Organization (ICAO). (Ministry of National Defense press release on 09/26/2006).
TOPEX has provided the air traffic control specific telephony system (TOPEX VCSS).
"We think it important that the participation of the Romanian economy in this international project should be thrown in bold relief. TOPEX gets involved in the promotion of NGN in Romania

TOPEX has held on September 22, 2006, the seminar "Moving to the next generation Networks" at JW Marriott hotel, Timisoara room.
The event held by TOPEX on Friday, September 22, 2006 is part of a much ampler TOPEX project focused on the popularization of the NGN concept and on its turning into a much more accessible notion.
The seminar discussed NGN solutions and applications, thus intending to make as many Romanian companies as possible to benefit on NGN due to this project.
The event put together representatives of renowned Romanian companies on the Romanian market such as: SteamWide, Euroweb, Allied Telesyn, Romavia, Atlas Telecom, CG&GC Intelligent Technology, Datanet Systems SRL, Datek Telecom SA, ICCO Electronics, Marac Romania, Beia, Radiocom etc.
Among approached topics: NGN notions, switching from classical networks to NGN, Interactive NGN Services, IPTV & VoD for Triple Play. Also, Q&A sessions were held at the end of the presentations due to which the participants had the opportunity to get answers from specialists, exemplified with demonstrations.
StreamWide also had panel presentations - "NGN Interactive Services" and Euroweb gave examples related to the integration of TOPEX equipments in the Eurovoice services platform, together with TOPEX.

TOPEX enlarges its Media Gateway portfolio with three new products: mini, small and extralarge capacity versions. TOPEX provides today new levels of integration for its customers ranging from 30 to 300 of TDM / VoIP channels. This way TOPEX reaches a wide range of scalable Media Gateways dedicated to Service Providers and Carriers.
TOPEX Media Gateway Family is targeted to Service Providers planning to bridge TDM (landline and mobile) and IP networks. The capacity of TOPEX Media Gateway can be adapted to different stages of Operators' growth, depending on the increasing number of subscribers. TOPEX chose to base its new line of VoIP gateways on Mindspeed Processors. It offers now more powerful tools for VoIP traffic management. This enables TOPEX products to enhance their feature-rich operation, satisfying in this way the most demanding users.
TOPEX VoIP gateway integrates both GSM and/or UMTS cards and is highly scalable. It is an effective tool for optimizing the communication costs of an enterprise, bringing an advanced fix-mobile substitution solution. By implementing TOPEX VoIP gateways in its communication system, an enterprise can extensively use VoIP between its different points of presence, inbound and/or outbound. Answering to the communication requests of any modern enterprise, TOPEX VoIP to GSM/UMTS gateway is the reliable way to IP fixed-mobile networks convergence.
Moreover, its signaling capabilities allow seamless interconnection process. This equipment acts as a powerful Signaling Converter (SIP to SS7) being an effective interconnection tool for Carriers & Operators (fix and/or mobile).
