TOPEX CDF is an equipment designed to direct the joint traffic, providing to railway agents the means to achieve any type of operative, bilateral connection that the personnel requires.

TOPEX CDF is a variant of digital switch that fulfills the requirements of dispatch centers with a small to average number of voice channels.

The system features a modular structure, regarding the equipping of the central switch with interfaces as well as the operating positions (workstations).

Product homologated by AFER with the technical railway homologation certificate OF 38/2006.

TOPEX CDF has been designed with a "star" form structure : the kernel, central switching equipment, is connected directly to each Dispatcher Console.

It is made up of a metallic cabinet (drawer) which can be inserted in a 19" rack or in a box for mounting on the wall. The 19" cabinet has 17 slots for plug-in interface cards.

TOPEX provides the following plug-in cards for the TOPEX CDF system:

Basic equipping:

2 power supply cards
2 processor cards (PG)
one card with two E1 trunks

Optional equipping:

one VoIP card with 30 compressed channels (which can be voice mail configured)
ISDN cards with 4 interfaces each; cards for local calls (type local battery)
BL or RC configuration (phone set for secondary post) with 8 interfaces each
FxS cards for local subscribers (analogical) with 8 interfaces each
cards for local subscribers, type central battery (current loop), BC or CC configuration, with 8 interfaces each
cards with E&M interfaces, radio link configuration, with 6 interfaces each
cards for dispatcher consoles with 4 ports
other types of interfaces - on demand.

All these interfaces are coordinated by a Pentium processor located on the PG card of the system.

The system can manage up to 16 Dispatcher Consoles and up to 64 analog ports.

For high reliability, the main boards of the system (processor and power supply) are doubled to ensure continuous operation even in case of hardware failure.

The switching base - back-up is automatically made.
