The arrival of a fully IP-based ATC communications solution from Rohde & Schwarz at the Indonesian Civil Aviation Safety and Engineering Academy (ATKP) of Medan, North Sumatra, marks the beginning of a new era for training operations in Indonesia. The Rohde & Schwarz solution includes a fully IP-based R&S VCS 4G voice communications system and VoIP capable R&S Series4200 radios. The key advantage of the R&S VCS-4G voice communications system is its flexibility. It can be scaled to meet requirements ranging from fully equipped area control centers down to small installations. This flexibility offers various benefits for suitable deployment at diverse sites such as ATC training centers. The software and user interface are the same for training and on-site installation.
